Chapters of Joy
“Chapters of Joy“ is a hauntingly beautiful choreography. Physically elegant, surprisingly soft and ever so changing into unexpected constellations of movement it is interspersed with a gentle scenic humour that can presumably only come from the bodies of dancers who love their profession. A seemingly ordered pattern births a captivating yet playful performance.

V.I.P. - Very Isolated Person
When the stage remains empty and the theatre goes online, what happens to drama and live performance? How does an audience experience a production when there can neither be physical closeness nor real human interaction? How can we overcome this social distancing? We invite you to join us for a live Zoom transmission of an award-winning, interactive performance loosely based on Chekhov's “The Seagull“, brought to the stage by the German State Theatre Timișoara (Romania). Performed in German.

Out of Season - Undancing Vivaldi
Vivaldi's “Four Seasons“. What happens to this piece of world musical heritage in the minimalistic setting of a non theatrical space, in the face of a single male body, struggling against the music for sovereignty of interpretation? A physical experiment on time and transience, endless return and wear. No language barrier.

Visual Theatre Performance
Zuzana Kakalíková / Compagnie TDU
Am I in the picture?
Inspired by the life and work of the American photographer Francesca Woodman, cut short by her untimely death, Zuzana Kakalíková modifies found spaces with a multitude of objects. Relating her body to them, she creates a series of vivid images. Far from any glorifying display, she never attempts to hide her own vulnerability. With great matter-of-factness but yet cautiously, she exposes herself in search of her own image. No language barrier.

Ani-Ma + Me, and all of that body
Having won multiple awards “Ani-Ma“ proves to be a cool, seemingly calculated sequence of movements, flowing into eclectic imagery. In "Me, and all of that body", the precision and self-discipline of "Ani-Ma" is replaced by an unheard-of flexibility to invent and combine movements, and thus to change, even manipulate, the expression of one's own body.

Grupa Coincidentia, Lehmann und Wenzel, Wilde & Vogel
Kukułka
It all starts with a broken cuckoo clock, found in a shed, on an estate deep in the woods of Eastern Poland. Then the rummaging begins, playing through fictional yet possible situations. A journey to the past, full of stories and ideas, questions and inquiries. Into a Polish-German present, into the heart of the theatre. Performed in English, Polish and German.

Dance Performance
Hodworks
Solos
What sets Hodworks “Solos“ apart from conventional solo works is the way they are being presented onstage. Happening within the room, surrounded by spectators, they appear to be layered rather than strung together and ultimately manage to show not only the movement language of the dancers and choreographers involved, but also a great deal of unfiltered personal moments. They conquer the space of the performance and fill it with movements and props, with emotions and little stories. Some text passages in English.

The Illusionist
In “The Illusionist“, Vojta Svedja, as an "incorrigible theatre aficionado" and a "notorious amateur", performs in one evening everything that lovers of the performing arts like to see - opera, western, ballet and horror. "The Illusionist" is the spectacular-unspectacular work of a king of magic and enchantment, but also of a great clown. Vojta Švejda as a classic anti-hero who tries at all costs to play great theatre - or at least what he thinks is great theatre - in a bland setting. No language barrier.

Theatre Improvisation Durational Performance
Leja Jurišić & Marko Mandić
Together
What does it mean to be "together"? This is the question this electrifying, multi-award-winning performance tackles. What is played out in no less than six hours, mostly improvised, is nothing other than treading a path only few artists would even contemplate. An almost pretentious act of artistic hubris, almost an examination situation, the plead for a profession. Charismatic, daring theatre presenting a range from unbridled joy to frightening intensity, between transcendence and exhaustion. No language barrier.

Graces
With irony and self-irony, a lot of sarcasm and an artfully celebrated awkwardness, Silvia Gribaudi and her ensemble hold up a mirror to a society driven by media and social networks. "Graces" celebrates imperfection, points to the magnificence of a "beauty in ugliness". It shows the fluidity of stereotypes, gender roles and identities and reinterprets virtuosity into the unconditionality of a style of one's own. No language barrier.
